Hajj to the Sacred House of God is one of the pillars of Islam, according to God Almighty’s saying, “And God has responsibility over the people to perform Hajj to the House, whoever is able to make a way to it,” and his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “Islam is built on five things: testifying that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, establishing prayer, paying zakat, and fasting during Ramadan.” And the Hajj to the House is performed by whoever is able to make it.) It was made obligatory in the ninth year of the Hijra. Hajj is not obligatory for the obligatory person unless certain conditions are met, which are: 1 - Islam, since a non-Muslim is not obligated to perform Hajj, and if he performs it, it is not valid. 2 - The obligation, which is that the Muslim must be an adult and sane. 3 - Freedom, as it is not obligatory for an owned slave to perform Hajj because he is unable, but if he performs Hajj, it is valid for him, and he is obligated to perform Hajj after his freedom. 4 - Ability, which includes money and body, such that he has money with which he is able to perform Hajj, and he is also physically healthy and not unable to perform the rituals. If the person obligated is unable, neither physically nor financially, then in this case Hajj is not obligatory for him, because the condition of ability is not met. 5- The presence of a mahram for the woman.
